Towards Monte Genevris, the gravel road switches back again on south east side and starts its ascent through the slope - and not, as one might expect at first sight, on the track escalading right up the ridge. The road soon features the design of a 'real' pass route with decent climbs and marvellous hairpins and serpentines. It however ends up on the Monte Genevris. This stretch may present a bit of a surprise if one only looks at 'colle' and, correspondingly, expects a slight climb from Colle Cotte Plane to Col Blegier.
