The west side is an easy and very dramatic climb, one of the best stretches of road in the Andermatt area or indeed in all the Alps. Ahead is the Rhone glacier, and below is a picture of Sheila riding past the hugely impressive snout, the source of a mighty river, which dominates this pass.
