We haven't explored this Swiss pass yet.
It is definitely not recommended for cyclists -
but we have read several accounts of successful crossings, involving walking and carrying.
It is a walkers' pass that has the reputation of being one of the most dramatic of all Alpine crossings. To the north are the twin lakes of Interlaken, to the south is a spectacular cliff-face descent to the Rhone Valley.

The photo shows the northern approach, much of which is easily rideable (when the snow has gone).
In bad weather the railway can be used - it runs underneath through one of the great Alpine rail tunnels.
