A very steep climb out of Val Gardena soon runs out of tarmac, and a rough undulating track through woods and parkland leads to two huge chalets at Saltner. From here the tarmac is OK, climbing over the summit and down to the town of Siusi.
Its a very popular day-tripper spot, as you can see the scenery is very lovely.
