Close to the Swiss border, this is just a bump on the way to the Forclaz, but it is notable for its unusual heath-like summit scenery, and especially for superlative views south towards Mont Blanc.
If approaching from the north (Switzerland) these are the first really good views of Mont Blanc that you get.
