It is not absolutely the highest tarmacced road, however, (that is in Austria) - not even in France (Bonette, Tourmalet)
nor is it the highest surfaced pass in Europe (that is in Spain)
nor is it the highest pass in the Alps (there are a few unsurfaced passes which go higher)
