Sandwiched in between the Gorges de la Nesque and Mont Ventoux itself, the main road from Sault to Carpenteras is labelled Col ND des Abeilles on modern maps.
The western side is quite scenic, but these photos were taken on an alternative minor route which runs to the north of the main road on this side, joining it near the summit. This road offers some of the best views of Ventoux from the south side.
