By some margin, the highest pass in this area, around the town of Gap and away from the giants to the north and south-east.
To the west the approach via the Col du Festre is easy and very scenic, though steep near the top.
The east side is quite different and much more dramatic as the road hairpins down a steep cliff.
There is a summit bar. It took us a long time to add this pass to our collection, but it is a good one.
