Another road which is the most westerly of its height, in the 'Alps'. West of here its straight down to the plains, and then the Rhone valley.

This might explain why Nigel is surrounded by radio masts in this picture.

This is a mainly mainly wooded route, a long and not very interesting climb. The parallel pass, Col de Tourniol, is much to be preferred.
